Sometimes I wish I could just skip the rest of this summer, and start classes. I have nothing to do with myself.

Long day

Must remember to write thesis webpage, and come back to Dartmud more. Urban dead misses me too. A gamer's life is never easy, though =)

Life after school?

Well, since I defended my thesis Monday, and made the first set of (very small) corrections I'm often at a loss for what to do with myself. I'm playing a lot of games, reading, etc... but still feels odd not to have anything to do. I wonder if this is how people feel after leaving the military (though, obviously, that would be worse). I still need to put up my thesis webpage, which will take literally half an hour, and I think do some paperwork stuff when my other committee member gets back to me with his corrections and I make those... but really, there's little to do.

I passed my defense :).

Now I just need to wait for the suggested corrections, make those, and I think do some paperwork.

Karate is going pretty well, I know almost all the 27 movements now. And I'm defending my thesis next month, so a bit nervous about that.

How is it that everyone else has lots of important things going on in their lives, that justify actually posting here, and nothing happens to me ever?

This isn't about anything or anyone specific, was just thinking I guess.

Some christians worry me a bit

This is pretty scary. Especially the entries for March 6 and February 8. On a more amusing side, though, is it just me, or does the March 6 entry read like some subs I know? I wonder what the author would think of the comparison?

National health care

I don't post about politics much (I have other places and individuals to rant to about it when I feel compelled to do so, and some of you have been very nice about ranting right back at me ;)

But I think that this list of myths and facts is worth reading for anyone who isn't already a supporter of single-payer health care. I'd note in particular that this is not the same as the British system of publically-run health care, it would be publically funded. While it is socialist in a sense, that does not imply communist, which in turn does not imply Stalinist (keeping the poor alive via health care or anything else wasn't one of Stalin's major life priorities, if that's not obvious). It's hard for me to see any downside to the proposal made on that site.

Life n stuff

Bored, done with classes now, just have my thesis to do. WHY can I not seem to start tasks that I'm not confident of getting done at one sitting? I mean, I have gotten some stuff done, but not that much.

Hmm, and I need to scan in the pictures my sister took, so I can add a newer picture on here. The one I have now is from when I wore glasses, so at least 3-4 years old. I have funky eyes - one is farsighted, the other is nearsighted - so I just suppress the vision of the one I'm not using. My mom is the same way, and she can drive and function fine without glasses (though she does wear them to drive, she doesn't have a stipulation on her license), and she's, well, let's just say she turned 35 a month or so after I was born.
